The digital repository software that held our library collections, ContentDM, was slow and difficult to customize. We decided to build a front-end for this data store on a that better met our needs. UMedia provides access to over 211,835 images, maps, manuscripts, video files, and audio files from the University of Minnesota collections.
Along the way, I created and open sourced two libraries to interact with the ContentDM api and to transform and load records into an Apache Solr instance.
